ICJ Norway’s Position Paper examines the institutional process concerning the proposed removal of ICC Prosecutor Karim A. Khan. The paper argues that the proceedings raise significant concerns regarding due process, prosecutorial independence, and the rule of law. It highlights the lack of adequate procedural safeguards, the risk of political influence over the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the importance of respecting the findings of the independent panel of legal experts. ICJ Norway calls on States Parties to apply the Rome Statute correctly, follow a lawful two-step voting procedure, and safeguard the integrity, independence, and credibility of the ICC.
